Please Meet Dr. Middleton

Please meet Dr. Nancy Middleton. She has been part of the Bella veterinary family since February 2022 and has become a fan favorite (both the two and four-legged kind). Her ability to connect with pets and their owners makes her very special to our clients.

Dr. Middleton has been a veterinarian for over 40 years, so she draws from extensive experience and knowledge to ensure pets get the best care possible. She earned her degree from Oklahoma State College of Veterinary Medicine, and in addition to general medicine, she specializes in wellness and behavioral issues. Dr. Middleton says, "I enjoy teaching and explaining why we do things. For example, why does most heartworm prevention have to be given every 30 days rather than once a month? Or, why we don't usually start puppy vaccines until after 8 weeks of age, etc."

When asked why she became a veterinarian, Dr. Middleton said, "I love just about all species of animals, and I enjoy working with people, so it's the perfect profession for me. Being able to help hurt or sick animals who can't tell you what's wrong makes being a vet so rewarding." She is not a fan of snakes!

Dr. Middleton has two rescue pups named Digit and Phoebe and one BIG kitty named Loki, which she adopted from Bella. In addition to being a fantastic vet, Dr. Middleton loves crocheting, especially crocheted toys, afghans, blankets, hats, and scarves, many of which have earned her ribbons at the Oklahoma State Fair. She also likes to make quilts and other quilted items like wall hangings, bags, table runners, and gardening when the weather is nice.

Starting in Bella's next newsletter, Dr. Middleton will have her own section called "Ask Dr. M?" where she will answer questions submitted by our followers. So, if you have a general veterinary question, please send it to info@bellaspca.org and watch our newsletter for your answer!
